Farleigh & District Swimming Club
The 2023 season is now closed. Membership will open again in 2024.
Open from 1st May to 30th September

Founded in 1933, the Farleigh & District Swimming Club is believed to be the oldest river swimming club in the country. This is the original "wild swimming club".
This is a community club run by and for the members. An annual general meeting is held for members to decide how to run the club and to elect the committee and officers. The date of the next AGM (in the autumn) will be advertised on our Facebook page.

A 70m stretch of deep water, with shallows above the weir.
Facilities include changing screens, toilets, a picnic and sunbathing field and ample parking.
The Club was founded when the Greenhill brothers, Les, Art and Cecil - the owners of the south bank - invited some casual simmers from the opposite side of the river to start a swimming club on the Greenhill's land.

The club has over 5,000 members and could be considered the home of wild swimming.

In the 1930s the Club was founded by the Greenhill brothers, Les, Art and Cecil, who encouraged sunbathing - a tradition still very much alive!

At the end of the season our winter members move in
The Club has played host to some memorable moments over the years...
